Below is a selection of software that is available to users in the Music Studio. In order to access these programs, request a MacBook Pro from the Library staff at the beginning of your session. Please select the user profile "Music Studio."

Digital Audio Workstation for editing, recording, mixing and mastering audio files | Technical details | Ableton Live provides lots of ready-to-use effects and instruments. It is designed to be used with the Ableton Push MIDI controller, but can also be combined with other recording equipment in the Music Studio (see Recording Equipment). |
| Audacity | audio editing and recording software | Technical details | Audacity is recommended for podcasts and other voice recordings. The noise reduction filter under "Effects" is a great way to minimize background noise in your recording. |
| GarageBand | Digital Audio Workstation for editing, recording, mixing and mastering audio files, also useful for recording podcasts | Technical details | Most musical instruments can be connected to this software through the available recording equipment in the room (see Recording Equipment). |
