Qatar Green Building Council
Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) is a non-profit, membership-driven organization providing leadership and encouraging collaboration in conducting environmentally sustainable practices for green building design and development in Qatar. QGBC also aims to support the overall health and sustainability of the environment, the people, and economic security in Qatar for generations to come. The council, a member of Qatar Foundation, was formally established in 2009 by a decree signed by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and is helping Qatar on its journey to establish a post-hydrocarbon, knowledge economy and progressive society.
Quranic Botanic Garden
The Qur’anic Botanic Garden, a member of Qatar Foundation, exhibits the botanical terms mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, explaining the significance of their mention in the Holy Qur’an, as well as the scientific explanations of composition, application and usefulness to man. The Garden will inspire appreciation of nature by encouraging respect and responsibility for our environment.
Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute
Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) is a national research institute under Hamad Bin Khalifa University, a member of Qatar Foundation. The institute opened in 2013 to address national energy and water security grand challenges.
Center for Sustainable Development
The Center for Sustainable Development strives to support sustainable development in the whole of Qatar, including at other institutions and companies in Qatar.
Food and Agricultural Organisation
The Food and Agriculture Organisation is a specialized United Nations organization that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. It has a huge database of agricultural statistics and publications related to agriculture.
ISRIC — World Soil Information, legally registered as the International Soil Reference and Information Centre, has a mission to serve the international community as custodian of global soil information. It works to increase awareness and understanding of soils in major global issues.
International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. Established in 1975, IFPRI currently has more than 600 employees working in over 50 countries. It is a research center of CGIAR, a worldwide partnership engaged in agricultural research for development.
