Library members can access thousands of eBooks and audiobooks for free through various databases. This guide will show you how you can get started with just a few clicks!

Access OverDrive Through Mobile and Desktop Devices

To download the Libby app on your phone or tablet and enjoy reading ebooks and listening to audiobooks, follow these easy instructions:

  1. Download the Libby app from the Apple or Android store.

  2. Choose the option to sign up using your library card.

  3. Next, choose the option to look up "Qatar National Library."

  4. Sign up with your Library membership info.

  5. Explore Libby's collections of ebooks and audiobooks.

  6. Tab the titles to borrow or place a hold.

  7. Borrowed books will be returned automatically after 14 days.

*You can also place a hold on borrowed books and view how many subscribers have placed holds on the book.  

Note: you can also read magazines using Libby app. 

To download the OverDrive app on your desktop, follow these simple instructions:

  1. Click on the download link located at the end of "OverDrive" homepage.

  2. Choose your download option: “Mac, Windows 8 & 10, and Windows desktop”.

  3. Install the app to your desktop.

  4. Sign up using your Library membership info.

To browse OverDrive through the Library's homepage, follow these easy instructions:

  1. Log in to the Library's website with your membership/ID number and password.

  2. Click on “Online Resources.”.

  3. Then, choose "EBbooks, Audiobooks and Music."

  4. Next, click on "OverDrive" from the "Popular Databases" list.

  5. Start searching for your favorite books!
